I felt the same though I hadn't run yesterday! I got off to a good start but after the river crossing it was a long way back for me. I am sure they increase the height of some of the steps on the final climb every year . Thanks to Trig and half of Heptonstall who seemed to be involved as well

Cheers Trig et al. Had a smashing day, although I'm local I still got wow-ed by the scenery today, the dusting of snow on the tops made it look particularly good. The river crossing was a laugh! Great selection of beer in the White Lion after too...

One of the best, well organised fell races in the calendar. That Trig fella sure knows what the needs of fell runners are. Many thanks to all the helpers who made this such a successful event. Well done Trig.
Oh! and well done to the Wharfedale men; team winners and V40 winner

Great race and well worth the journey from the north east, but that final climb was a bugger. Stopped me getting under three hours it did.

Heptonstall was my favourite race of last year, and this year it was even better. A cracking, tough course, a whole village full of support, and a blessing as we went. Don't, whatever you do, let them rebuild that bridge as the river crossing just added to the fun. A much increased field from last year too; I do hope it doesn't prove too popular and have to go pre-entry only.

Thanks Trig, thanks Pete & the rest of the team. Great event, even better than the recces! I managed to be faster than the recce a couple of weeks ago, even though I seem to recall I never got a chance to stop or slow down on the recce. Pesky fast group kept waiting for us "mediums". So I'm happy with today - loads of lovely mud! And the stream crossing gets top marks. We'll have to organise a Dambusters-style raid next year if it gets rebuilt.

A great race but found it extremely tough. Brilliant refreshments at the end, the support was second to none and the organisation was top drawer. Not done many fell races but this one definitely stands out.

The cold snow and icy water helped me get round as my ankle has since seized up and swelled up after misjudging a tussock. Can't complain with 4th place though. :-D will certainly be back.

Super event today, must be one of the best organised, marshalled and marked long race. Thanks Trig and everyone else involved in the organisation. See you next year!

Sorry, new bridge will be going in on Tuesday. Feel free to use the river though if you want!
