It's easy to find...it's a small green tent in the middle of a featureless bog....in the dark.

Where is the best place to park for a recce of Buckden Pike and Great Whernside, given I would want to get back to the car at the end and also include the descent of Great Whernside? Would I be best to park in Threshfield and get a bus up the valley? Thinking of heading up on Thursday week, so maybe the milder air expected next week, move shift some snow, anyone know what its like up there at the moment? Cheers, Al

Dino forgot to mention it also had a small flashing light on last year which showed up when you were a few feet away from it

Did this a month or so back, parked at Kettlewell, took footpath that passes by Starbottom to Buckden, up Buckden Pike, then Fellsman route to Capplestone Gate. Take the wall around as you would take to go to Yarnbury. At this point I then picked up Dales Way back to Kettlewell. No idea about conditions but suspect Buckden Pike and Great Whernside to be full on with snow right now?.

Anyone planning any recces on the last part of the route over the coming weekend?
If you are and can stand a steady person plodding along behind you I'd be keen!
You can either contact me on here, PM me or email <the data stream at google mail dot com> (remove spaces)
I've got my own transport so we could potentially do two cars for a linear route?
Otherwise its a round of the 3 peaks with the odd extension thrown in for me...
    Cheers

p.s. if anyone needs a personal reference that I'm not a complete numpty then hopefully cefn dave or Derby Tup can oblige (be nice guys)
