Fortunately we don't check sell-by dates.
Hmmm. Good point. I suppose I'd eat it if I was hungry enough.

Those 300g ready meals have a nuclear half-life, never mind a sell-by date

    Hi,
This will be my first, ‘Fellsman’ and I could do with some help, please.

Does anyone know of a path/route (preferable with some grid refs) from Middle Tongue checkpoint to the Hell Gap checkpoint?
Any support would be greatly appreciated.

    Take care.

I have a gpx of the route if that helps...well its the one I've followed for the last 7 fellsman...obviously it takes note of recent checkpoint changes

I know people have their preferences but mine is the one which goes via Jeffrey Pot....probably a safe option and not as quick as some routes but always worked for me

Message me your email and I can send it if you like

At the start of fleet moss leg,I noticed a small path just down the road from the check point by the big arrowhead road sign going off left.Does this cut out some of the initial bog?
At the other end,the quad bike track goes past several posts, the 1:25 map shows two small tarns, would the middle tongue check point be between third post and larger of the two tarns on the 600 contour line?Could be interesting in the clag!!
Any thoughts on this would be great.
To all fellow bog trotters, have good one

The weather forecast for Saturday had been looking a bit dodgy yesterday (snow and rain in the afternoon) but its now looking a bit better -> mountain forecast - Whernside and weather outlook.com for BD24 (my post code in Settle).

Still plenty of time for that to all change of course

I really couldn't get excited about this and will not be taking part at the weekend. Does anyone know if I should tell the organisers? Are there folk wanting to do this and who haven't got places?

The week of the event, and right on cue...
    ta daaaa!
    comedy weather forrecast!
Excuse me if I don't bother to click on any of the links.

With a kit list as comprehensive as the Fellsman's, we're hardly likely to get caught out are we?

Haha. Yeah well when you're out in the weather for 15, 16, 17 hours or more the weather can make a diFference. I still remember the deluge of rain over Blea Moor the first time I did it (2009?) And last year's possible hyperthermia, double vision and slurred speach! Anyway I may need to take sun cream
