    The Preseli Beast!

Attachment 6843'Can you tame the Preseli Beast?' A new race in the stunning Preseli hills on April 27th,2013. It's a toughie though at 23.5miles with approx 4,700ft of uphill. So it's more like a tough off road/fell marathon that's similar to the swaledale/three peaks stats. For more information go the website at http://preselibeast.wordpress.com/

And for your hard earned rewards. A speicially designed T-shirt, memento, goody bag, soup, cake(and lots of it!), tea/coffee, prizes if you're fast enough in your age category(team prize too, and even a specially commisioned stained glass Preseli Beast panel for overall Male, and Female, by the good wife!), but more so, a chance to run on an unfamiliar stunning course. 'Can you tame the Beast?' If you think not, then you might like to try the 'Beast Bach'? A 10 mile mini version of the Beast which is to give the lesser abled/newcomers a chance to find out what it's all about.

I'm sure there are, though I haven't spoken to Caz for a couple of weeks. If you want to PM me I'll forward you his phone number and you can give him a call etc. Even I'm planning to jog round (unless I can come up with a suitable last minute injury excuse ) - and I haven't turned up at a race in 51/2 years .
A few of us are going to support him for his first race.

Thanks mate. All sorted - plenty left apparently, if anyone else fancies it? Looks great from the facebook pictures.

I'm figuring the smaller the field the better my chances (of finishing at the back...).

Yes, still plenty of spaces available. I hadn't realised when I'd set the date that the Cribyn, and Three peaks(although that's a lot further to travel anyway!) race was the same day. I looked at last years diary and guessed that this years diary was going to be the same. I guess it's always going to clash with something anyway with the amount of races in the calendar. The Cribyn race is different to this one anyway as it's shorter, so hopefully it wont affect things too much. We'll have to liase for next year though. I was more concerned that I wasn't clashing with the Blaenavon-Llanbedr race at the time.

I(well Mrs p actually!) have finally cracked it And have got the route map onto the website! [URL="http://preselibeast.wordpress.com/the-route/"] Yeah! Whether you want to see how far it is though is another thing.

I've also nearly sorted out the trophies. 40 in total!!!!!!!!! Yes, you read it correctly, 40!!! Which currently means there are more prizes than runners, but I'm hoping that'll change nearer the time. There's even a 1st & 2nd over60's class just for you Moley! So you'll have to do it now.lol

Yeah, me and Mrs p(mostly her doing ;-) have successfully added the map of the route to the website. http://preselibeast.wordpress.com/the-route/:thumbup: Wether you want to see how far it is though is another matter.:w00t:And what it doesn't show is how varied the course is. I'll try and get some photos of the route on here sometime though as a taster but there are some photos on the Preseli Beast facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/ThePreseliBeast?ref=hl

I've also nearly sorted out the 46, yes 46!, trophies that are for you runners(If you're fast enough in your category of course!). Full list of prizes are on the bottom of the main website page http://preselibeast.wordpress.com/

I'm hoping this link will let you see some of the photos of the route! https://www.dropbox.com/home#!/home/...reseli%20Beast

I could still manage to come 3rd in my class, even if there were only 2 entries in it!!
I see we go to Newport, chance for fish & chips and a pint on the seafront at the halfway mark .

Here's the link(hopefully) to dropbox which has some photos that I've taken in the past.https://www.dropbox.com/home#!/home/...reseli%20Beast

As for coming third Moley then I don't think so. You'll be fine on the day espeicially if you know that Mr Steer is struggling behind you

    Re: The Preseli Beast!

I've updated the website recently, again, for those who might be interested, to show some more photos of the route, and the slate coaster design which the good wife has created. She's a genius and much cleverer than me when it comes to these things:wink: I'm the creative one out on the hills in creating the course, but she's definately the one who has the creative edge indoors. Good team me finks.

A good day was had by all, lovely weather and views, wonderfull (and noisy) support all round. Beer and dancing in the evening .
Thanks to Caz and all the many helpers.
I can't walk - my legs hurt .
