Has anyone had any problems with khatoolas breaking? Over weekend one if the plates that hold the chains together snapped has anyone had this too or has anyone had dealings with khatoola ?

Second winter with them last year a few runs and this year a dozen at most in lakes so not loads of use. I wasn't actually wearing them at time so dont know how it's happened but the stainless has cracked and snapped possibly stand an a rock awkwardly im guessing. Looking at the break it looks like cast. I can maybe weld it but wondered if any one knew of it as I havnt heard of it either

If you have any dealings with Kahtoola over this, I'd be interested to know what they say/do... if anything

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with this Simon - stainless steel is a bugger to weld and in small runs tends to oxidise quite badly (= weak). Might be best to try and get Katoohla to simply replace 'em. I'd be moaning like an old drain at them

I havnt heard what their customer service is like either as I havnt heard of problems with them, ive been more than happy with them until this incident. You're right martyn stainless in small tacks would be weaker, thinking on I may make a new piece but see what khatoolas have to say first and I'm sure they'll be helpfull. If not I may have found myself a niche market repairing them being a sheetmetal worker a fairly simple task. I'll post when I get a reply

I'm pretty sure the latest Microspikes have a two year guarantee; the older ones one year. Might be worth claiming you bought them recently!

I can see I'm preaching to the choir. Sorry mate, didn't realise you were in the business! (so to speak)
