    Giro

Can Bradley do it? He's supposed to be in better shape than he was for the Tour last year. I guess he will be looking to gain time in the individual and team time trials before the high mountains kick in. Looks like it could go down to the wire with 2 summit finishes and a mountain time trial in the last 4 days.

Cavendish has got his OPQ team built around him so will be looking for the Pink jersey tomorrow but he's often been a slow starter at the Giro

At least he can sit down, unlike Basso with the boil on his bum!

There is a great chance he'll win, but I don't think it'll be as regimented as last year's tour. The other teams wont let it be otherwise they'll just hand it to Wiggo. Most squads have upped their game since last year. So that'll just make it a more exciting race to follow. It'll be good to see Sky have to make a few more tactical decisions on the hoof, and I'd love to see Bradley have to get above threshold for once and sprint for the win.

Cav will come good too. I'm not really a betting man, but what odds can you get on Wiggo and Cav winning pink and red? Might be worth a tenner.

I think Wiggo is by no means a dead cert. Podium yes but the big mountains will be the decider. Sky's team has 4 good climbers (Henao, Uran, Suitsou, Cotaldo) for support but none of the caliber of Froom or Porte that kept him in the TDF yellow. Hopefully the other teams have upped their game and we end up with some more intereting racing. Last years TDF was frankly dull at times.

As for Cav, OPQS have built a team around winning the red jersey. Howvere, he has not looked too sharp his year so far but does seem to have the knack of coming good when it matters. Only other contenders in the sprints I can see would be Matt Goss, Sacha Modolo or John DegenKolb. I know who I'd put my money on - the Manx Missile!

Is there a specific Giro website?
I've googled a few times and just keep coming up with TV Channel Newspaper reviews.

    Re: Giro

I appreciate why the general UK press are obsessed with Wiggins (by which I mean that they know nothing about cycling and that Wiggins is overrated over here) and maybe he can win it, maybe, but in the last 16 years an Italian has won it 13 times (4 riders twice and 5 once) and that isn't just by chance. And Nibali hasn't won a Giro yet.

Since the Spanish got their act together in 2000 they have won 9 of the last 13 Vuelta (of which Heras won 3 and Contador 2).

I don't think I was born when a Frenchman last won the Tour!
