There's one in 'Feet in the Clouds" by Richard Askwith.
It's him and Fred Reeves having a sweaty hug after the 1978 Grasmere guides race, with a rather hilarious St John's ambulance man looking on!

IIRC, there are a couple of good photos of Tommy Sedgewick in Bill Smith's SMOTS. My copy is not to hand at the moment - on loan and about to disappear on a tour of India!!!
Have you thought of approaching the Westmorland Gazette? They are likely to have many photos of the fell running legends, within their archives.
Have you asked him?

Wanting not to use anything already in SMOTS or Feet in the Clouds, as it is for a book I am working on covering some of the same ground. Westmorland Gazette is a good call as they allow rights for individual photos (with acknowledgements) but don't have archive or provide photos themselves.
