tough luck mate but best to be strong as the BG takes no prisoners...

The DP guys had a bad night. heavy rain and strong winds. over an hour down after 2 legs but I hear the weather is better now. plenty of time to play with

Anyone out there in touch with Lycramike's team?

Hi Roy - Dave (Leg 1) saw the forum message but I couldn't log in to reply.
Hard luck ... but only for now.
As folks say, get properly better before you think of giving it a shot. Long distance strenuous work after a virus is seriously dangerous and takes casualties no matter how fit they were before they fell ill. Keep us updated on your plans and I'll help out if I can.
Incidently, during last week I did a few variations of the the Blencathra descent you were asking for and, in the dry, the direct route down the ridge was slightly quicker (without trying to go quickly) than the variations to the west side. Greasy and slippery would probably make the other option preferable, but there are plenty of threads discussing this at length elsewhere!

Keep well and give yourself time.

    Dave

I've not had the details but Rob dropped out in the Langdale. Tim Rippon (a forumites brother) pushed on and despite being way behind at one point dug in to finish but 7 minutes outside the 24 hours. A great effort. his time will come in a few weeks I think

I don't know any more than you do, Ian. I heard an hour and a half down - but whether that was against their 23 or rather a 24 hour schedule I couldn't say.
