    montane 22l sack

Has anyone used the montane 22l ruck sack? My old raid light is on its way out and looking for a day sac to replace it for running and walking ultras. Going to have a look found Keswick for it at weekend but wondered if anyone had field tested them as it were.

Not yet, just acquired one last weekend for my birthday, very excited to try it out!

Its ridiculously lightweight, and fits perfectly on your back. The 'dry bag' type opening is a brilliant design, fast and wide access in and out, plus plenty of other smaller pockets and bottle holders.

Gave it a good test out on Sunday up in the Lakes.

Packed it up with plenty of weight and set off on a long slow run in the wash out conditions.

The fit, for me anyway, is absolutely perfect, it sticks to your body like glue and is very comfortable when running, really great design.

The 'dry bag' opening is perfect for quick and easy access to the main bag, which is essential when its pissing down!

Having not put a dry bag lining, it was a good test of its waterproofness, and it performed much better than expected, I would say 99% waterproof, which is not bad considering it doesn't advertise itself as waterproof!

Definitely recommended. You won't be disappointed!

Cheers for this you two!! I've been trying to find a new sack for a while. My old KIMM sack has gone a bit saggy and the insides de-laminated! I'll be looking at this next time I'm in Keswick! I do like the Montane stuff!

Im a montane fan too, I did have a look at one a couple of weeks ago and did like it but the straps looked a little thin so I thought I'd wait and see what UK ukhursty had to say but it's got the thumbs up
