Ti 29er, show off.
Ti 29er, show off.
Thanks for all the thoughts everyone. Not that I feel any less overwhelmed with choice!! lol
Think a titanium MTB is well out of my price league!!!
Am now wondering do I need CF? Can I afford a decent CF?
Would a 29'er in fact be ok?. If it was a 29'er would I still need a full sus?
Questions questions questions........
Gonna have to start getting some test rides when I'm back on the bike. Full sus vs 29.
A few people have mentioned the Trek to me now to........hmmmmm
Never ridden a full sus 29er
I imagine its a bit like gliding along on a magic carpet.
I hear what you're saying but I think announcement of the death of 26" wheels has been premature. I was at a popular MTB spot last week with my little one (20" wheels - splitter!). We stopped for an ice cream at the caff, maybe 30 bikes parked or passed by ...2 of which were 29ers. One of those looked a bit odd - small woman, big bike. Don't think 26" rims or tyres will disappear just yet.
P.s. test rides is the way forward Flopsy and Ti doesn't have to be as expensive as you think... send me a PM if you want to know more... If I introduce you to my sponsors, Qoroz, you will get a deal, as I don't take a comission for introductions. Worth thinking about!![]()

Flopsy in a rather lazy way I haven't read all the replies to your post but would like to add the following. I have been MTB in some form for over 25 years and have tried most types of MTBs along the way incl bouncers, hardtails and even a softtail. I use my bikes for just about anything from full on xc racing to weekends in the lakes. I have recently been fortunate enough to be able to buy an new bike and have got to honestly say that it is by far the best and MOST versatile bike I have ever owned. My advice would be go and have a test ride on a 29er as I'm sure you will not be disappointed. And the bike I hold in such high regard is my £1000 hardtail Whyte 629 29er, utterly utterly brilliant.
Managed to find a picture from our last lakes trip too.
