Great result in the circumstances (i.e. having played badly for four days).

There was someone on the BBC site saying how this was a great advert for test cricket.

So to summarise for the non-fan:

Three test matches over 15 days, taking weeks to complete. And the result was 0-0.

Woah there! Don't forget it rained quite a lot too. We're talking some serious meteorological razzamatazz here.

I think it was Boycott on the BBC saying about it being a great advert. Ok, test cricket isn't to everyone's taste, but he's right in that a day's play like today is pretty amazing and you need the long form of the game to generate that sort of scenario.

I missed all the excitement in the cricket today with doing the CWR. I didn't really expect that result either. Great bowling display by Stuart Broad apparently and I will have to catch up with the highlights later.

Century for Rooty  The two Yorkies have stopped the English rot and are now raining on the Kiwi's parade.

Just watched highlights on C4, most times when England do well there is a Yorkie in the team:wink:

The old saying was 'when Yorkshire are strong England are strong' which means we should have been shite since the 1960's

The summariser on the wireless captured all the key points. Root scored his maiden test century on a saturday on his home ground, in the first innings, in front of 12 thousand yorkshire fans. Key moment in English test history? Let's hope so - he looks pretty good at the moment.
