More Mile Cheviots MK2

hoth, one Meirionnydd is enough for any shoe!
Seriously though, I am on my second pair of More Mile mk1. I did lots of miles with my first pair; the studs are still good but one suffered a small tear on the side, thanks to the tough Scottish Highlands heather. One of the most comfortable shoes for me.

Would people recommend as a good value allround trainer/racer?
Or are the issues with durability just not worth the sub £40?

My wife bought a pair of these a few weeks back, the grip and fit is superb. She's done about 60 miles in them and the upper has completely disintergrated. Such a shame as she loved them but even at £30 she won't be buying another pair.

Glad it wasn't just me that managed to destroy a pair so quickly! I loved mine too, they could be onto a winner if they could sort the crummy uppers.

I had to superglue some studs that were hanging off my x-Talons (after only 150 miles) so I'm saving them for 'best' now & have used the Cheviot mk 2's for training lately including a Borrowdale recce which as we know is pretty rough. One swallow doesn't make a summer I hear you say but for now (admittedly on 60 odd miles) I'm happy to report no problems with the uppers & they appear a decent shoe. The 2 for £50 offer applies to different sizes as well & a mate who took advantage of this with me is also very happy with them.

We were shown a sample of a new lightweight More Mile shoe this week called Pennine that is meant to be available in November.
It looked very good, on a par with the innov8 x-talon at a retail price of £45, its definitely going to shake things up.

I had a run round Borrowdale recently too but my Cheviots, well one of them, now has a split above the side of the rubber toe cap. 150 miles in total. :thunbdown:. Shame, they are comfy and grippy.

Done a few hundred miles in the Cheviots now, but not much on tough mountain terrain, mainly tracks, trails and riverbanks, studs have worn down quite a bit but the uppers are still intact, well pleased with them.
Whilst shopping with wifey I popped into Mountain Warehouse and Momentum Brahim trail shoes caught my eye. Tried 'em on and felt really comfy, £55, anyone tried 'em out.

I did 30 miles in my Cheviot 2's before the uppers started to go. It's a pity as they are comfy and have great treads. I daren't use my other pair (they were 2 for £60 I think) on anything other than local jaunts.

Uppers went on mine after a 100 miles or so. Didn't get a lot worse though, must have got another 150 miles out of them.
