    Re: The Loneliness

My personal record: 43 miles without seeing another runner. It was in a 45-mile LDWA-type event. Any advance on that?

Is it loneliness? or is it solitude?
being lonely seems to have a negative spin, to me anyway, and I'm sure we don't chose to run long distances to get that. Just saying.

I'm with you on that one Cyclops, I rarely feel lonely on solo runs but I do enjoy the solitude.

Another +1 for the solitude I have never been lonely on even multiday solo long runs, infact I would go as far as to say the solitude is bliss:thumbup:

I thought it was just me appreciating the solitude after 5 days in a noisy classroom!

    Loneliness is a terrible absence.
    Solitude is a deeper presence

and here endeth the first lesson!

Reading other threads tonight you may wish to avoid BGR this coming weekend if you prefer solitude
If you feel lonely, you may well wish to turn out too - it'll certainly be fun for many and varied in cake supplies.
