Piece of cake Roy. You just turn on about 5 mins before you start and forget it. Ideally it needs to be in sight of the sky so attached to a shoulder strap is ideal. But as it got transfered from pacer to pacer it was in bumbags, outer pouches of rucksacks etc and seemed to record pretty well. Are you planning to carry it yourself?Originally Posted by vespa

change over point for wasdale at the end of road opposite road to national trust carpark where you make the climb up yewbarrow

If you could switch it on an hour before that be great.. Few people have switched them on - not seen that the cr*p light is on and then switched it off again when they push the button again.
Re location - yep bill is right it is better on a rucksac strap but likewise you don't want to get stressed about it on such a day. If you have to put it in a zip pocket no worries.. just might struggle with GPS signal in some of the steep sided parts of the route.
