Thread: Holme Moss

I did this 2 years ago before the route change and the Garmin said 17.3. Yesterday it said 17.9 and in fairness I don't think there are too many places you can go off in this, possibly on the way over to Crowden or from Bareholme to the bottom of Laddow.

Absolutely fantastic route & many thanks to all involved in staging it.

Thanks to everybody on the organizing team! It was a fabulous first fell race for me. Great route and cake. Still hungry, tired, happy.

Aye, nearly 18m for me and over 4000ft. Tough day, as seen on my face heading to the finish line I was well and truly stuffed by the end.

Had a trot round part of this classic today & it's predictably boggy in places, might just have finally found a good line from Bareholme to Laddow though :w00t:. Hopefully a good turn out come race day again.

Many thanks to all involved with today's race. What an absolute classic fell race, it has a bit of everything. The last climb is a killer, you cannot zig zag it's just straight up. And the climb up through the rocks midrace is near on rock climbing.... Loved it.

Just got back from this today, great race in scorching heat. The 5 water stations and assorted streams were very welcome.

Managed to take the worst line possible from barehome to laddow which involved wading through bushes and bracken before climbing the wrong (and more dodgy) part of laddow rocks and having to run back to the marshals. I know there is a good line as I was on it last year but its far from easy to spot.

Well done on your prize tindersticks, all your racing is paying off.

Classic with a bit of everything sums it up for me too Tindersticks. Views on the run down to Crowden were something else today, I'm starting to have enjoyed it now...... many thanks to all involved. Extra water stations definitely helped me loads even though I carried some.
