not sure about current conditions sorry, am away this weekend but if yourself and anyone else on the forum is interested in meeting up for a training run sometime in May i'd be up for it.
I guess alternative suggestions (other than staying in pub!) would depend on where you're travelling from and if you're looking for alternatives in Snowdonia or elsewhere??

Well the forecast was pretty accurate (rapidly strengthening [winds] with height reaching 45 to 60mph with gusts approaching 80mph higher western areas)...turned back not long after the JCB (yes really) @850m as just far too dangerous & unpleasant to carry on any further...thought it was the responsible thing to do.

Can anyone suggest what footwear for Snowden? I've heard its like a road race and given the hot conditions thinking about wearing road shoes. thanks in advance. :thumbup:

anything.. trail, road, fell all fine.. I've done it in speedcrosses and walshes and x talons.. but others in road shoes, and those who have done well too...

Main thing is comfort.. not too thin a sole on the shoe..

Its a fast run but still rocky enough to hurt your feet..
