Well just a week away from this and although I won't have chance to recce I do fancy it, so it could be slightly steadier with map and compass in hand especially between CP's 3 & 4. Anyone else planning to turn out?

My first attempt at this one. Looks tough in terms of climb but looking forward to the forgiving howgill turf underfoot....

Mudclawed...very little is forgiving on this one...those soft rolling hills really do look inviting...
CP3 -CP4 no trod, tough going under foot not to mention the incredible climb gradient.
Then the gradual climb up t' calf seems to go on for ever and is runnable... if you still have the legs by then!!
Guaranteed Wobbly legs on the final descent!!
    Enjoy!!

Couple of friends are running this so joined them on a recce last week. I think the majority is great fellrunning terrain, mostly soft underfoot with some excellent descents, but I agree the drag up to the calf is bloody awful. Not steep enough for a walk so you end up running it all and it goes on forever.......
