I enjoyed the route but it was a bit hot. I managed to miss the hornets but not the bog. Finished in 5th place I think.

My sympathies go out to everyone who got stung by the hornets. I went round next day to see where the nest was, I'd run it on Friday and spotted nothing. On Monday they were calmly buzzing around in a tree off to the side of the track and never bothered me. I can only think that the vibrations of giant feet must have made them think the nest was under threat. We may well have the race at a different time next year as we don't want to nuke the little critters (actually they're quite big!) I suppose the red kites will launch an aeriel attack then!

It was discussed on The Jeremy Vine Show on R2 today. Probably available on iplayer for anyone wanting to listen again.
