As ever, a brilliantly organised race. Thanks to the marshalls, and to everyone for not getting lost.

ooo a DSQ, lack of kit, cheeky/Dangerous monkey!
Very impressive from Tindersticks and Stefan, both moving up through the field!

looking forward to getting back into the peaks racing scene in a few weeks time!...

I was fortunate or maybe unfortunate to be at the Trig marshalling on todays race, it was so windy which really helped the Snake Hill Climb (bike) over yonder to a course record and six 13 minute and under times. For me and my little dog it was bloody freezing, she couldn't even bark encouragement. I saw a couple of tumbles and fortunately they were unscathed.

I also witnessed and nearly left my post in anger to chase.... someone blatently cut the corner although he could see everybody cutting off right to follow the flags to the Trig, one runner behind him followed but corrected his line, does he know who it was? It was annoying to watch him join the descending line of runners missing out a good half a kilometre, I would have definitely put him back on course.

Also the winner was disqualified for not carrying kit. I can assure you all it was cold up there.

Otherwise a great event, by the time I got back to the hut, all festivities had ceased.

Thanks Tim, I really enjoyed it today. You have a flyer in Glossopdale as well at the moment. Chris J is really motoring.

    .
I agree with that last bit. Even with plenty of windproof clothing I had to tell Clare to sit among the rocks out of the wind as she was starting to chill badly. Anyone twisting an ankle and needing to hobble back would have had problems without body cover.

Nice write-up as ever 'Thomas' (and there was me thinking it was 'Taylor') and well fought for that placing. The funniest bit for me was marshalling the first gate. I thought I had the flock of sheep well sorted out; they were over the far side of the field before the runners came into view. Then after about three-quarters of the runners had gone through the gate about 50-100 sheep sprinted down the hill towards the open gate. I must have looked rather comical trying to allow the last runners through whilst trying to shoo the sheep back. A few sheep got through - thanks to the sweepers (Two men and a dog - Tom, Neil and Bessie in her lovely GDH coat) for herding them back into the field for me in record time.

Really enjoyed today's race, brilliant underfoot running conditions. The peaty moorland is a joy to run across when it's got the 'bounce'. Well done local lad Chris Jackson, he's flying at the moment. Thanks to all involved, just wish I had stayed around instead of rushing off to run Bradley fell at 3pm.

I reckon you could get a 150 races in this year if you tried a bit harder!!!

Time to practise my sheep herding skills again on the run-out through the fields. Gate 2 duties this year.
