Good to see so many forumites. Sorry to pass you at the end Pinno. Hope your injury is not too bad.
Having lost over 100 places on the descent I flew down the tarmac at the end picking up a dozen places!
Don't know if I will be on the highlights but the women at the top shoved a microphone at me at the summit and asked what was the first thing I'd be doing at the finish so I said "having a pint!"
    well done colin , excellent

Swoop nice to meet you today, you shot past me in the last mile. When I passed you a a mile or two earlier you looked as though you had stopped for a stretch? or was you taking in the scenery? Anyway well done today. Hopefully my injury won't be to serious.

No, my legs were fine. I was trying to get something out of my sock which was sticking into my foot -
a thorn or something. My own fault for forsaking the path for the grass too often!

Got 3 or 400+ photos of today's race to upload tomorrow will add a link when done. Tracey took them on the ascent and decent seeing as I was running. I have just had a peak some good pics.

Hi all,Good to see so many of you at the Snowdon Race yesterday. Was great conditions for running. Warm on the way up, getting cooler as you headed for the summit. Difficult section on the train tracks I felt, as sleepers were just slightly to short to run on and full of oil!!!! New restored path was a pain to run on as well and I have discussed this with people who have done it many times now. Apart from that, you could really get moving.Legs a little sore this morning, but off for my run now. Might be back quicker than I expect. Just hope Bone is not looking for a fast sunday run!!!!!

I heard a lot of people saying they weren't looking forward to the descent and I can understand why after seeing the carnage on the way down. I was looking for 2hrs, this being my first time and a newcomer to fells/mountains/running this year but it wasn't looking good as I struggled to the top in about 1:30. Had a breather giving the girlie on the summit an interview for a couple of minutes before charging down like a mad thing...made the error of holding on to a bottle of water longer than I should and ended up drinking too much and getting a stitch but managed to take back about 30 places on the descent of about 35 mins and was happy with my 2:06.

Great race yesterday - and was pleased to manage about 2.11 (40 mins to Half Way House, 82 to summit, and 48 minutes down).

Looking forward to seeing the photos Pinno - hopefully she stayed around long enough to get pics of the back runners.

Swoop - I saw you running down as I was still on the way up. You were chattering away. I think I heard you say to your mate something like, "I wish I could give you some of my energy". !!???

Delighted to report no injuries amongst my friends there. And I wish a speedy recovery to all those who did get hurt.

That was me just as Also Ran was passing me. I had got to the top in 66 minutes and felt strong but my brain wouldn't let me run down fast on those stones and it took me 46 minutes to get down. As a result I finished as fresh as I started. John Morris who was just behind me at the top beat me by 12 minutes!
Thanks to Mr1470 for a cheer on the way down.

So who has sore legs this morning? I have just done 90 minutes on the moors with Bone and another lad. Touched several race routes including David Bray Tintwistle Memorial Race, Gravy Pud 5, Gravy 6, Round the Resers, Lads Leap, Crowdon Horseshoe and the Old Glossop 10 route. Cracking day for it, but my legs are bugered. Ok on the uphill and flat but nearly walking down hill. You can imagine how I came down the final hill on Lads Leap!!!!!So, have the rest of you been out and are the legs killing?

Managed to put up a 9 foot 7 bar gate this morning - just come in for my elevenses. Took the dressing off my knee to give it some air but our dogs keep wanting a lick! Will try for a gentle jog this evening. (5th V50 but pity they don't have 5 year groups cos I'd have got 1st V55!)
