The organisers were kind enough to trust me to post them my entry fee after I turned up having left my cash at home...
Fancy putting an extra mile on......what are you like?? Like Steve says, you may be slow at the moment but at least you're out there doing it, very well done!

Looks like it's the last John o Gaunt Challenge (W Yorks LDWA) in and around Washburn Valley on 19 Oct, with a new event in Gargrave area being mooted for next year. JoG doesn't get many runners but I'll be giving the 20 mile route a go.

Are there any route maps or gpx files for this?

Just found this for the 20 mile route:
    http://connect.garmin.com/activity/235430057

The 25 includes a loop around Thruscross reservoir (including the only bit of real moorland on the route).

Fantastic route this one, especially that loop around Thruscross as it's different from other events (like Blubberhouses). I thought there were quite a few runners in the past. I am doing it, but I'll be running very slowly.

You're right Socks, although I was thinking compared to Blubberhouses/Trollers etc the number of runners (and indeed total number of participants) has been lower in recent years.

Yes, definitely less runners than Blubberhouses and Trollers, but still enough I thought. There's a note on the LDWA website that this is the last year for JO'G. Expecting to change to an event near Gargrave for next year.

Entries for the 2014 Valleys 100 opened at midnight - already nearly 100 entries on SI. Should be a good tough event over and around the S. Wales valleys, they are no pushover with plenty of climbing.
If you are thinking about it, I would submit your entry sometime soon.

Have my pre-entry in on SI, decided to have a go as it's nearly "local". Went over some of the valleys last month on start of the Cambrian Way, it will certainly be a very testing course and the S. Wales group look after you well ..........foooooood .
