Found in Holme Fell car park (!) a very soggy Horwich vest . race number 173. I assume it was from 3 shires. can return if needed.

That would be Tony Varley's vest. Don't know if he inhabits the forum.

If you are doing the Langdale horseshoe you could take it there for me, otherwise please post to 1 Kensington Drive, Horwich, Bolton BL6 6AE.

    Thanks very much

    Richard,

You are almost correct, this is the first time I have posted for years. I was told there was a message on the forum about my vest.

    Cheers

I believe the forum went down but does no one have comments to make about the clag-fest nav-nightmare that was the thirtieth anniversiary running the Shires?

I missed that on Facebook, Lauren! Would love to know how many DNF's there were to make me feel better about my detour-ridden completion. The embarrassment of ending up on the wrong side of Blea Tarn will fade, although the scars from my slides on the way down there will take a little longer.

This is what all Lakeland AL's should be like.

From what I have heard there were 38 DNFs, three of whom did not report to the finish and are likely to be taken out and shot.

A thoroughly enjoyable race. It was particularly entertaining seeing runners who had confidently flown past me earlier on in the race coming into the finish whilst I was supping tea and eating pies.
