    Typical, I now have a streaming cold. On the positive side it will force to cut back on running over the next couple of days but on the negative it'll add a touch of spice (and snot ) to the actual run on Saturday!

    I'll be enjoying my picnic at Sty Head tarn on Saturday in the sunshine, i've been instructed to take pics of certain coloured vests, but i'll get as many of you as possible

    Also dreamt that there was a second bridge at the first right turn after the start so was faced with my first route choice dilema before I'd even left the village. The weather was good in my dream

    General Situation

    A cold front will move slowly southwards over the Lake District during Wednesday introducing more cloud and patchy rain to the region, accompanied by a moderate southwesterly flow.

    Wednesday




    Weather:
    A generally cloudy day with some patchy light rain and isolated hill fog but also some drier and brighter interludes.
    Visibility:
    Generally good although becoming moderate in any light rain and drizzle and very poor in hill fog.
    Cloud Base:
    Cloud will be broken with bases around 900m although this may lower to 600m during the afternoon in light rain and drizzle, particularly on western facing upslopes with ragged patches down to 400m.
    Wind and Temperature at 900m:
    Southwesterly winds of 20mph with gusts to 30mph possible. Maximum temperatures of plus 9 Celsius.
    Freezing Level:
    Well above the tops.

    Thursday




    Weather:
    There is likely to be variable, often large, amounts of cloud around during the day with a few brighter spells although there is a risk of a few scattered mainly light showers at times.
    Visibility / Cloud Base:
    Cloud will be broken with bases generally around 900 metres, although there may be ragged patches around 700 metres at times, particularly in any light showers, giving rise to hill fog in a few places. Visibility will be generally good, although possibly moderate in any patchy light rain and very poor in any hill fog.
    Wind / Temperature / Freezing Level:
    Winds at 900m will be westerly around 15mph. Temperatures meanwhile will rise to around plus 8 Celsius and the freezing level will be above the tops.

    Friday



    A mostly cloudy day with some light rain and drizzle possible, particularly on western facing upslopes. There may be a bit more brightness for the eastern fells. Winds will be light to moderate southwesterly.

    Saturday

    Variable amounts of cloud with the best of any brightness further east. There will still be a risk of a light shower during the day with the chance of seeing some more organised rain moving in from the west during early evening. Winds remaining moderate southwesterly.
