Still a classic pint when kept and served well.

There's a decent chance I've drunk more Pedi than anything. My old local jugged it up from the cellar and it was superb. The landlord sold more than any other free-house and the head brewer used to bob in from time to time to check if what he was making was okay. Burton is the home of brewing as I was telling a couple of pals a few weeks ago at a beer festival, before trying the Burton Bridge Damson Ale. It was like pish but I gagged it down before moving on to something else

Let me know what you think SFG. I think it recently won an award.

I've always laughed at the "it doesn't travel well" line.... There are pubs within a mile of the brewery that serve a shockingly poor pint of Pedigree !

I spent yesterday evening in the wonderful Victoria Hotel, Beeston. I might have to go back for a pint at lunchtime to recover!

Totally agree Dom and the same can be said for most beers. You can't put a price on a good landlord that keeps beer properly.

A few of my mates are always raving about the Vic. good beer, great whisky selection and very comfortable surroundings so I'm lead to believe. I'll get there one day.

1 Pint : Roosters - All Stars (Citra, Cascade, Centennial) just as you'd expect, zingy, fruity, zesty, citrus.
1/2 pint : Acorn - Gorlovka. dark, dark, dark. rich malt and liquorice

Vic at Beeston is a great pub

I had two bottles of Chimay Blue last night. I've had a weird hangover all day. Not so much physical as almost a spiritual hangover, in every sense of the word hangover

I've been cutting down lately, or atleast trying too due too piling on excess beer poundage, my 8 pack of 2011 has long since turned into more of a cask now couldn't resist having 3 swift pints of my fav Windermere pale ale from hawkshead after work tonight though and im off to Durham lumiere festival tonight so probably have a few up there ....
