You're a brave man mapper, it was my first proper fell race last year and managed 2.40. I'm looking forward to spectating this year and having a nice jog around the various vantage points this year and will be handing out water and maybe a few jelly babies

That way I can enjoy the painful expressions on peoples faces. ;-)

Anyone know of good cheap accommodation nearby? only thing I can find after a quick internet search is the Pendle Inn. bunkhouse or hostel would do, or a bargain B&B. could camp at a push if in Barley so walking distance to pub/start.

not sure of cost but it's walking distance
    Roughlee - Thorney Farm Cottage

Georgian farmhouse in a lovely country setting with luxurious accommodation on the ground floor. Close to Pendle Hill and on the Pendle Way, with a Pendle Way drop off and pick up service.

Just looking at previous entries. It seems that cramp could be a factor here. As a relative novice to AL races does anyone have any nutritional tips that might help avoid the dreaded 'C' word? - many thanks

Take a bullet and bite it....it will happen.

Climbing is the killer on this race, don't go too fast and eat and drink.
The last two climbs are HORRIBLE(ly good)

Nuun tablets are great - I suck them and they really work for me to stop cramp
