Best wishes Ian, hope all goes well.
Do what you like, like what you do
Thanks every one. Sill in the hospital but expected to be released soon. Despite 4 hours on the slab every thing went well and its looking good. Amazed at the size of scar in my groin....it will not be impressing the ladies. Will post more later....:-)
Great to hear that you are OK, hopefully they did what they needed to do.
just seen this, hope all is well ian and will see you on kinder soon.
I shaved before I went as but didn't do enough so they shaved me any way! had two slices of toast early but han di sickness at any point although was a bit lightheaded after they put the cannula in.
From my FB page-An update is that after walking about a bit I'm a little sore and my shoulder is a bit stiff, this is very strange as it's the part of my body that hurt the most during the time they were burning the pathways in my heart even though that at no point did any thing touch my shoulder.
For the medics amongst you that wanted more details they needed 7.5mg diamorphine to keep me quiet, I have ecgs and a heart map showing the pathways they cut(a lot) I presumed it would be 2 or 3 small burns but it ended up being over 50! hence 4 hours in the theatre.
I feel a bit of a fake at the moment. I'm up and about, no real pain, wife has taken the week off to look after me and I feel like I could go for a run(albeit a slow one)The docs are confident the WPW is sorted and the Aflut. there is an outside risk I may have to go back for the final part but they think that by sorting these two it should stop the third occurring.
If any one has to undergo this op I'd say go for it. the worst bit was the cannular.
Lest we all forget
SPENgood luck mate hope yours goes as well as mineIve had a rubbish couple of weeks of training with sore medial knee ligaments. Next Wednesday I have a catheter alabation so god knows how long that will take out of my training.
