    Funniest thing for me was going up Gable into the last quarter of the climb, the runner behind me says 'what hill is this then?' Best bit was the tea and butties afterwards and well done to the team for putting so much together for so many runners.

    Yes, I heard that but thought I was mistaken.

    For those of us wedged firmly in the mid-pack, i think the route was shortened by about 40-45 mins. Adjust your times accordingly!

    Did you see the pool of blood at the slate mines? I think there were a few nasty falls (as you'd realistically expect). One chap overtook me on the fast descent down the track to the foot of Gable and did the full frontal body graze thing - he said he was okay mind and bashed on.

    I managed to put one leg waist deep in a 'shallow' pool a couple of times and slipped or got clogged in the mud fairly regularly. I also found sliding on my backside a useful alternative coming down the steep drop off of Dale Head!
