    Re: Borrowdale 07

Bit late compared to everyone posting but had a great time and like most people wasn't complaining they had took the Pike out when I got to the finish!!!

Plus was great to see everyone again and hope you all enjoyed it!

    Little hint for everyone!!!

If you see blood covering a rock up ahead you should be thinking it looks slippy becarefull!!

Not ooo I bet that hurt.....ooo eck its my turn now!!
Fortunatly I managed to use my knees and hip to cushion my fall against the soft and springy slate!!!!

Got loads of admiring glances on the run in with blood on the knee thou! Made an effort to avoid the fearns on the way down so they didn't brush it away for maximum effect!!!

Well congratulations, Daz h!! – I hope you enjoyed the race. I think anybody who got around did well – no matter what time they did. The bogs were pretty sloppy and some of the streams were deep – it certainly made it hard to maintain a good pace over the Bessy Boot, Glaramara, Allen Crags section.

But, like many, you’ve got me wrong. My earlier posts weren’t based on elitism – I just didn’t want to see a great race made easier just to allow more people to do it. Nor do I think that we should pester race organisers about this. As can be seen from some of the comments here, it is a tough job organising any fell race – even tougher if it’s as popular and as demanding as Borrowdale.

Yes well done, Daz h – and also well done Scoffer (and all his helpers). It was a hell of a job – and you did us proud.

That's really annoying when people leave their blood all over a rock - it doesn't half make it slippery! Sorry Calf - hope you're ok.

I thought we had got the right line - runnable grass was what I was looking for - until Joe told us afterwards that there is a nice runnable path all the way round to Windy Gap. I tell you what, Daz, we'll recce it next year ready for your BG.

Anyway - a great weekend, can't wait for next year.

By the way, Moo, hope Anna's ankle is ok. It didn't look good when we were sat outside the village hall having tea & butties.
