Same here, but i often suffer with blisters on heels with most new fell shoes, yet never have this problem with road shoes. I dont think its 'cos they are cheap, I had the same problem with my mudclaws, With me they only become blister free once the back part of the shoe, which causes the blisters, has worn away and made a hole in the material after a few runs, then they are fine.

I take a 10.5 in normal shoes and always go up a full size in trainers. 1.5 sizes in New Balance and Walsh.

I find New Balance snug, but not too far off and have always been advised to go up half a size in those, but half a size up is too big.. Probably just my weir feet, so will just have to try em and see I guess

I will persevere with them then. At the moment they are banished to my cellar and I'm running in flyroc's and mudclaws. Will bring them out again soon.

Well after a 8 mile night run this evening I can report that I have solved my blister problem with these shoes. My heel was sat too high in the cup so I removed the inner footbed that came with it and replaced it with a cheap 1 millimeter one from local shoe shop. My heel now sits lower and now no rub at the back. Really pleased and they now compare well to my mudclaw 300's. Fantastic value for under £30!

I replaced the insoles with some crosslite ones as the originals kept sliding about. After that no problems.

I replaced the insoles too. They were flimsy and scrunched up. I also had to adjust the lacing, but I've had to do this to Inov-8s in the past as well.
Having said that, I really like my Mark 1s. Over 22 muddy miles on The Hebden they were comfortable and grippy. I'm intending to give the Mk 2s a go next.

Bit the bullet and bought a pair in my usual size. No problem, in fact a good snug, but not overly tight, fit. Had a bit of a heel hot spot for the first couple of runs, but that has soon passed. The grip is outstanding - just as good as my Mudclaws, and they are very comfortable on a wide range of terrain. I don't like the laces, as the flat profile makes them tricky to adjust or loosen to take off, but that's easily solved. They also seem a bit heavier when wet compared to the Mudclaws or the La Sportiva XCs I've just binned, but that's a small price to pay - just like the shoes really

I now have a pair of these after my cheviots (mark 1) split down the side - the upper came away from the sole.

I bought a size 8, which is what I take in Inov-8s and normal shoes, and they're fine, but a bit tighter than the mark 1s which were always a bit on the large side.

    I'm hoping the mark 2s don't split.

Incidentally, I take 8.5 in all New Balance shoes.

    I'm the same
my Mark 1's separated after about 300 miles
just got some Mark 2's which I haven't christened yet
got half a size up (10.5 cf 10) and think that'll be fine
hoping to get a bit more than 300 miles out of them...
