Getting up early is good for you. And if you don't want to run on your own you can slow down & run with me. I ran 4:31 in 2011, but I imagine it'll be significantly over 5 hours this year. Seriously, there'll be a fair few runners. It's a good event.

you might need to phone the organiser and check it is not full. Ian and Karen Wardle 07952673357
There are usually lots of runners and then in the second half you come back across those doing the shorter route too

Oh dear, took me till this afternoon to get hold of the organisers. There's still room but now I can't get the entry to them before tomorrow's deadline. Ah well, maybe I will amble round it on my tod some other day.

been toying with the idea of doing this one on Sat. 8th Feb...
the route looks good - quite fancy getting up onto Winter Hill and Darwen Tower
however, I'd prefer not to have to enter in advance, as weather might be sh!te on the day

so I'm thinking I might just go round on my own on the Sunday (weather permitting!)
don't have to start quite so early then either

So am I but I'm not letting that stop me. But I'm still unlikely to be running on Saturday. I took the dog for a walk today for the first time since damaging my ankle a week ago, & it was too painful for comfort. Off to the doctor on Thursday for him to have a look.

bad news Andy. ope he finds what it is and you are on the mend soon. I ran Wed for an hour and then Sat for 3 but it has not helped my Achilles. Am hoping to do the route but suspect it will be a PW. After staying so injury free last year ( except the fall n Borrowdale) I cannot believe the start of this year

now thinking of taking Friday off work to go round - I can then report back on conditions!

does anyone know of anywhere I could get water about half way round, or will I have to carry a shedload?
