Not perfect but better than was originally forecasted

    How Windy?

West, later northwesterly, 30 to intermittently 40mph.
    Effect Of Wind?
Will impede walking on higher areas, and may make walking difficult intermittently on higher areas.

    How Wet?

    Snow and hail showers
Occasional hail and snow showers, generally brief.

    Cloud on the hills?

    Very little by late morning
Cloud mostly above the summits by late morning, although will lower near showers, but rarely below 600m.

    Chance of cloud free Summits?
    80%

    Sunshine and air clarity?

Patchwork of sunshine. The air very clear indeed, but visibility temporarily very poor in snow and cloud.

    Temperature (at 600m)1C.
    And in the valleys

Will rise to 5 to 7C.

    Red face

Sounds pretty good to me, could've been a lot worse forecast. (Still might be I suppose)

I'm now not racing but am instead intending to do a reverse skyline, perhaps starting circa an hour earlier and heading up Hollins Cross first so as to end with the best half last. Should mean that me and harry can wave to everyone twice as we cross paths

Photos being loaded up 25 at a time. No cropping done or changes to photos. If you would like any of the originals, then just let me know. No charge, just read the frame at the start of the set. Thanks.

A few photos from the "Barry family Jelly Baby checkpoint" at Lords Seat. It is probably the top 1/3 as all the Jelly Babies had been eaten by then so we called it quits. Great to see the top runners in action.

Great pictures Pat and backtothefells. Now, if you could just do something about my thinning bonce...! Great to see you and the family out there Pat. Really appreciated the support just as I was starting to suffer.

It was a great day today and the weather was superb while we were out. I would say the course was running at least 10 minutes slower than last year but I would say that being as my time was also 10 minutes slower than last year!

Many thanks to the organisers, marshals and all involved. The field for the car parking was an inspired choice!

Saw you thrice actually, once down in the village as well. At least I'm presuming it was you as you had a collie (?) with you!

Brilliant event as per usual, well organised and a delight to take part in. Weather held out in the end as well. Thanks to all involved, and I appreciated the pie and peas at the end!!
