It was interesting at the point heading to the gap in the wall. There were runners all over the place, obviously newbies picked up about 10 places, plus lots of roadies in road shoes...Big fail on the first race
Happy with my time but will glad to get back under 30 minutes.

    - A nice temperature
    - The rain held off
    - The woods weren't too slippery, to cause the newcomers any problems (as far I know)
    - The Don wasn't too deep to slow progress much (@ crossing 2)
    - I managed to beat all of my club-mates, who came down to run

And, a record field (so it seems??), with 322 finishers

A big "Thankyou" to Andy & his valiant team for allowing us all the pleasure(!?!) of running whilst getting wet & muddy!!!

Can't see you listed in results Ian

By 'gap in the wall' do you mean the one partway into the Woods, or the one back onto the road, after 'Don crossing 2'?

Photos are ready to view from Trunce 1. PLEASE feel free to put the link on club websites if you so wish. There are two sets of about 100 in each. Some amazing runners last night.

He has been told. 30.42 was my time which was spot on as I'd predicted sub 31 after my two races yesterday.

The one part way through the wood. There were runners on all three paths and even one on top of the mound? don't you just love indecision.

My first Trunce - and not my last - LOVED IT!! There's a cracking picture of me overtaking in the water, but I assure all that it was a fair move, even if the picture has a 'strong arm' look about it...anyone know if the lass who took a fall is ok? She made it back to the finish but looked pretty shattered, credit to her, whoever she is. Sub 32 next time and then hunting for points....

    Hi Jeff

Hope it's not one of our girls, as she's not showing in results, & I haven't been able to find anything out about her yet

Obviously, I do wish whomever it was a swift & painless recovery

By the way, t'was I who spoke to you, about the 'Ilkley Moor Fell-Race' & shook your hand after the race

This reported on the Trunce site. please stay away from the houses..

Hi All, we had a legitimate complaint from a young lady during the warm up for the 5 mile SYRRL run on Wednesday about runners (mostly men but at least one woman) urinating behind her house. She said this also happens during the TRUNCE. There was a sign asking runners not to use that area as a toilet but some runners obviously thought their need over rode any considerations for the people living with the smell and distasteful behaviour. We all need to relieve ourselves before a race, either from over hydrating or nerves but please do not do this anywhere near the houses on the right hand side of the field. Ultimately it could affect the running of the race. Basically ask yourself 'Would you want someone pissing in your back yard?'
