    Geoff, your footprints were mighty handy on today's leg 3 out and back recce although still some (lots!) of fine tune lines to sort before navving it :-O :-D

    Afraid we had to bin it. We stood at the bottom of Great End being blown around by 50mph gusts and considered the safety aspects of descending Great End to Styhead, not to mention getting blown off the top of Great Gable, Kirk Fell and Steeple. Decided that the sensible option was to run round to Styhead and drop into Wasdale. By the time we got to Greendale to sun was shining, but we could still see the clouds scudding across the tops.
