    Hope this helps.

Regarding long runs, I don't think you need to do anything beyond 18. If it's flatter where you are then the pace will probably be much faster, so the fitness you get will be spread out over a longer time at a slower pace on the day (that's my theory and I'm clinging to it!). Definitely pace yourself. Try to get to Greendale at least in decent shape!

Regarding water, Wasdale has lots of water on the route (streams) so there's plenty of opportunities to re-fill a 500ml bottle.

I'm not saying that's advice to win it, I'm afraid, but I hope it helps you get round.

Don't start racing until Pillar!! Sounds a bit daft but seriously don't. A nice easy pace till there then if you feel ok you will pass loads who have set off too fast. There is plenty of water on route if you don't mind drinking from becks, so don't worry about that. Buttermere HS runs it close but its still the hardest race in the calendar. Just gutted I can't do it this year. Have fun.

I removed it from Youtube as I imagined that the music might've breached someone's Copyright. I'd best make another one soon.

Please do....asap!! That vid was class and was a real help, certainly for me, as I like to try and envisage what Im taking on before the main event. If it's a music issue could it just be uploaded without it?

    Cheers

If anyone is in/around Ambleside between now and race day, please could I hand over the men's trophy. It weighs half a tonne (you can't cycle with it), is an awesome trophy (worth picking up just to have a good look at it) and, most importantly, needs returning to Richard for race day. If you could email me, that'd be awesome. Ta.

I'm enjoying my mini taper for this. Not that I've battered the mileage but it's still good to be resting the legs a bit. Since Buttermere Sailbeck 2x16s a 17, 18, 19 & 20, that'll have to do. Giving the legs one last working over on the rower and spin bike hills today and an 8-10m tomorrow and that's me. Foolishly started looking at weather forecasts, haha
