Watched Scent of a Woman last night with Pacino. Great film, can't believe I'd never seen it before!
Also watched Lost in Translation the night before. Brilliant.
Noah (2014). I like Darren Aranofsky's films and I am a bit of a sucker for a biblical epic so I thought I would enjoy it and I did. I thought Russell Crowe was very good in the title role. Trouble was I kept waiting for Noah to say "we are going to need a bigger boat"Ray Winstone was ..well Ray Winstone who unintentionally provided the best explanation of why some animals went extinct

Watched HER recently. I was expecting to like this being a fan of Spike Jones and I wasn't disappointed. Great film, really well shot with a cracking storyline and cast. Very interesting take on a love story. Those people that enjoyed Lost in translation should love this. 5 out of 5 from me!
Next is Mistaken for strangers. A documentary film where we see a guy whose lived in the shadow of his brother all his film go out and follow his brothers band for a year whilst they are on tour. Tom Berringer's the guy, and his brother is Matt Berringer of The National. It's a bit up and down, and Tom is pretty annoying at times but it comes good in the end. As a big fan of The National I enjoyed it, though think others who aren't into the band may struggle.
night before last
finished my tea, slumped on sofa
family all upstairs (watching Grown Ups 2)
had loads of things to do
noticed Godfather Part 2 was about to start on Film 4
it's my fave film, I have it on DVD, I can watch it whenever I want, I had no plans to watch it anytime soon
watched opening scene...
...3 hours 50 minutes later I somehow had watched the whole thing

I must admit I hit the record button on '1 million years B.C.' the other night on Film 4.
I do like a historical drama finely performed by a consummate actress with a stong supporting cast of fine British character actors delivering eloquent prose from a tightly written screenplay.
Well that's the speech I gave Mrs Alf when she caught me ogling Raquel Welch![]()
Kill your darlings. The tale of Ginsberg, Burroughs, Kerouac and Carr during there time at Columbia.
I enjoyed the film, thought the casting was good expect for that of Michael C Hall as Kammerer ( I feel he will never move on from Dexter). One thing I think they did get massively wrong was the music - the use of tracks by Tv on the radio, and Bloc party simply didn't work for a film set in the 40's.
