    Hi wharfeego,
Speaking as a paramedic and a MRT member, it sounds like what you did was spot on and almost certainly saved the guys life. If there is a life threatening reason to move a casualty then you must do it, as long as it can be done with no risk to yourself.
    Well done!

Brilliant photo Andy, it looks like Ashley is trying to take out teammate Greg with a sliding tackle.

Got plenty of pics. Let me know your number and rough position on that section of the race and I'll see if there's one o' thee; same goes for anyone else.

I guess I will, in time, do a proper written story (with pics and vids) of the day's experience.

But first my thoughts are with the fall guy who I would like to speak to before publishing any more details than I already have done.

I think this photo says a lot about the incident…

The red 'X' marks the spot where he tripped, Greta Gill just below…

That's an astonishing fall, a lot more than the 30 metres quoted. Lucky not to have headed straight into the gill. Thanks for sharing that. Scary stuff

Speaking of the pub, no wonder you had that big daft grin on your face all night after that result....brilliant stuff.
I too came 168th in my first Borrowdale, a striking coincidence, but no chance I'll ever be 3rd there! Unless the entire field gets lost or dq'd

    Hi Andy,

I was number 40. At a guess I'd say around 75 at that point.

    Thanks

    Hi Andy,

As already said by many on here, brilliant work with the rescue of the fallen runner, a horrible thing to have witnessed.

I was 343, a few minutes behind Greg & Ashley, but had dark cag on like Gregs by then too so number will be hidden. Great shot of them!
