It was probably a bit sad and needed a cuddle.

about 20 golden plover on my path this morning....get out of the way I'm on a speed session...

Good to see them though. I saw a huge raptor a couple of days ago, it looked bigger than a buzzard but it was side on and flew with trees behind it so difficult to pick out markings...possibly something passing through

Hartlaub's Turaco that flew across the path and sat in a holly tree next to us. Apparently, it escaped from a someone's house about 6 months ago and is happily living in Macclesfield Forest and Langley.

Splendid looking thing. I got a few photos, but here's one off of tinterweb: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...uraco_RWD2.jpg

3 peregrines today on kinder, first two in a clough above the Druids stone, I think we disturbed them, then about an hour later one shot passed us near Crookstone, probably one of the pair but on full attack mode

I saw the peregrines after we'd spoken when our nav groups passed near Crookstone.
also saw a stoat, happily bobbing in and out of a ruined stone wall above Edale YHA

I was driving across the tops from Ayton to Settle the other evening and saw a little owl on one side of the road and a gorgeous barn owl perched on a fencepost on the other side. Pulled up next to it to have a look and it gave me a cross look, did a massive poo and then flew off. Charming!
