You feel like a grass ratting people out like that, but after Buttermere everyone has to look out for these sorts of infringements i think- it's in all of our best interests. My guess is that they simply won't have understood the potential seriousness of an incorrect headcount, 4 runners not accounted for at the back of the field is not an option.
You might well have done them a favour though, I was thinking as we turned into the wind off the top that I wouldn't have liked to have lingered very long without kit after a mishap. Consider it looking after your fellow runners rather than feeling like a grass.

Steady one for me too, but Great race today, thoroughly enjoyed it. I've wanted to do this race since the relays 3 years ago but have just been too darned lazy to get my a*se out of bed early enough. Managed 4 falls, 3 of which involved dropping into bogs on the descent. Can't remember falling once all year so this represents an encouraging return to my usual average of 3 falls per race. Well worth the 3 hour drive.

To put the record straight, 4 people were pulled out in the head count for no equipment. One of then went and found his waterproofs and joined in starting late. I had a chat with the other three who were quite obviously not fell runners and were wearing gear more associated with jogging in the park. They accepted the decision politely and were refunded with their entry fee.

Now I need to get on with typing up the results!

Having properly looked at the results for the first time, I notice that Victoria Wilkinson lowered the women's record which she set last year by 8 seconds. Huge apologies to her for not picking that up in the heat of the moment at prize giving.

As this year's race grows nearer, I thought it time to mention a few things.

Firstly, this is the last time I will be organising the event so if you know anyone who would wish to take on the task, just mention it to them.

Secondly, because of changes to the camping situation in Kettlewell our usual field for parking will not be available within the budget of the race because the campsite has been upgraded. You may still park at the new campsite, however, you will be charged £3 by the new owner for doing so and I will also have to supplement that from my budget. Access to this field is now from Coniston Road and not via Fold Farm as in the past.

Other details for the event, including registration is as previously and as per details in the FRA fixtures.

    Hope this makes sense.
