Cheers-a fab day!. Spoilt slightly by the group of lads who, having finished the race insisted in standing, talking on the road in front of the finish funnel, obscuring the view of the finish marshalls and of the later, slower competitors (several of whom missed the funnel). Despite being asked nicely 3 times to move 1 bloke eventually gave the finish marshalls a mouthful saying he wasn't in the way, they could stand where they wanted and he "refused to be manhandled off the road!!!" ( Didn't recognise them but they had Lancashire accents!) I had gently put my arm round 1 man and asked him again if he could please not stand in the road. He was quite aggressive and rude to both finish marshalls who were still in the middle of timing.
They didnt seem to understand that safety and efficient number collecting at the end of the race are so important and in such a short race when a lot of runners finish close together good, early visibility of numbers is really important.
Sadly next year we will have to have a whole section of the race taped off and many more road marshalls in order to keep the course clear.
Apart from that a brill day which was only made possible by the amazing team of Ambleside AC members who worked hard to put it on. Thanks to them for giving up their day
Cheers everyone and see you next yearC
