Billy Bob was rather good in Fargo and I thought The Grand Budapest Hotel was ace.

    Golden Globe winners below.

I've watched a lot of films lately and have been very happily surprised by Populaire,I loved The Lunchbox, liked revisiting Fargo, enjoyed the latest episode of The Hobbit and thought Interstellar was brilliant if you didn't think too hard about the science and concentrated on the philosophical part. I saw Frozen (against my will) and have to admit to enjoying it. I also watched La Grande Belleza which I really liked but could probably do to watch again as there was a lot to think about and I missed a few key things that I had to google afterwards! The Grand Budapest Hotel was just as good the second time around

I liked the first half of Grand Budapest but lost interest in the second half.

Foxcatcher - I couldn't see past Steve Carell's prosthetic nose to his acting and probably neither could he. Mark Ruffalo the standout actor again.

Boyhood - liked it but enjoyed The Imitation Game more.

I liked the TV series Fargo and I am looking forward to the next one.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time Lapse (2014) - not nominated in Globes but I enjoyed it very much. Kind of a time travel movie with good story progression and a couple of twists I didn't see coming

GHB reminded me of some Eisenstein, Bergman and Godard films I have seen.

I didn't enjoy them at the time but having seen them and confirmed my cinephile credentials I enjoy the pleasure of knowing I need never watch them again.

Pantani - Accidental death of a cyclist

    Interesting.

Anyone have any Netflix recommendations? Apart from Conan the Barbarian which I assume is what Breezey is likely to recommend.

    Teasing me shaunaneto?

Pantani etc I recommended on here as a film of merit when it was released to cinemas..

I have never seen and will die happily never having seen Conan... but if you would like to know which of Claude Chabrol's 54 films are magnificent, then I am your man.

Ah hah. I'll give flight a whirl.

Not sure how many of Chabrol's efforts are on there.
