hoping to swing a pass-out past Lady Slugge for this one on Saturday - anybody else likely to be there...?

It must be over 10 years since this was a championship race, was anyone else there that Saturday, pretty desperate weather from what I remember

Arrrrgh....the bank holiday traffic never crossed my mind, the journey took at least an hour longer than expected but thankfully we arrived on time.

After a short warm up I get talking to a Eyri runner who lives in Darwen near Blackburn, he once worked at the Llanberis slate mines. We chatted about the route and it sounded like I was in for a treat.

We're off and it's steep and it gets steeper and it goes on and on. Just to make things 'easier' it's flippin roasting with no wind. In no time eyes are stinging from beads of salt filled sweat....love it.

The views are amazing and the race keeps on delivering hill after hill. Sections of the route are familiar from previously doing Peris Horseshoe and last years Muddle champs race. This really is a fantastic area for running.

The last mile is flattish track and I'm alone, can't catch the guy in front and no sign of anyone behind. So I decide to have a sing to numb the pain of my skin shredded big toes which I blame on wrong sock choice and what better choice of song than Breadfan by 70's Welsh rockers Budgie....beltin, the pain has eased and thankfully nobody hears me sing....I'm shite.

    Many thanks to all concerned.

Great to hear your reports Daz.... Always inspiring, so keep them coming. Walked up Snowdon yesterday and got burnt... But fantastic views and good company. Must spend more time in the Welsh mountains once knee and back better.

Great to see/chat with the Tindersticks on Saturday, and finally get to do this SUPERB race after many years of promising myself I'd get round to it.
A wonderful "clean" route and I imagine horribly runnable if only I were fitter - as it was I plodded round near the back and thoroughly enjoyed it

the winner was down as unattached and put 3 mins into the field - I assume he's "between clubs"!?
