This is my posting on the "wrong thread"
Frustrating race for me, I am strong on the climbs so overtake loads of people going up-hill. I had loads of people congratulate me as I passed them as I ran slowly up the last climb only for all of them to overtake me again between there and the finish. That overtaking/re-overtaken happened the whole day!!

I have to say I am gone quite on the forum. The "safety rules thread" and AlwaysInjured "done for me" with it.

Most feedback came through Facebook from club members which is a closed group.
1/2 Trog was a great race and the route change didn't really alter much, Thanks for organizing and thanks for trying to get me some larger club kit

Pendle was also well organised if not a little sketchy with the cross over of runners running up and down the same track!

Afraid I have to agree with that it was a case of tired back markers looking at their feet as they climbed the very narrow path and then "flying front runners" hurtling down towards them. The potential for a crash there was massive.

Well the Tour of Pendle was my first ever fell race in 2007 at 50 years old and i finished last (needed a qualifier for 3 peaks in 2008)
this year was the 10th year in a row on the start line (one DNF due to plantar fasciitus)
Even though it was shorter it was still hard with the going very soft under foot.
Many thanks to all the marshalls in that weather and 10/10 to Kieran and his team for coming up with the shortened version at short notice. will be back next year hopefully for my first one as a 60 year old

I must admit to feeling a bit glad that it finished at checkpoint 6, when I was at checkpoint 6. The weather didn't arrive as bad as was first forecast, but the underfoot conditions were a bit energy sapping. This would have been my first full tour, but was it was only 3/4 i will have to do it again next year.
Well done to the marshals and organisers, and to the 422 people that turned up on what looked like it was going to be a horrific day.

Yeah, the front 6 came past me on this bit, well, crossed over me. Thankfully after Rob Hope flew past I was obviously aware it would happen again quite soon so kept my eyes open to jump out the way

Quite right, thanks are due to the RO and marshalls and all involved in organising, supporting and ensuring this race takes place and everyone is counted in safely.

This is the only race I have done for 5 consecutive years. When I heard the route was shortened my first thought was selfishly for my own disappointment, as I had been determined to achieve a sub 4.

Well, I hope I am here again in 2016 for a sub 4 and I hope it's the full route.

    I love this race.

The shortened route was still a cracking day out and in the face of the forecast and with thoughts for slower/steady runners and marshalls it was the right call.

So, many thanks to all involved and marshalls even those who said they were ready to go home as I passed, I know you were only joking!

At serious risk of igniting a controversial subject, I think you're right there Pat. The "AI" effect was probably quite profound, I literally hated to see the vitriol-filled posts unfolding every day and I don't think the forum has been the same since.

Anyhow, back on to what's important: The Tour of Pendle is an obligatory one for us, sincere thanks to the organisers and marshalls for being out in some pretty damp and blowy conditions. Despite it being cut short it was still a great race, I'll be back next year, still full of hope that I'll beat my soft PB

the AI effect was the reason I came off the forum for a while but as I type the same old drivel has just blown up on the facebook site so I have blocked the lot of them so I dont have to read it
