worth noting that race doesn't actually follow this route!! well it hasn't on the three occasions I've done it.

when you get to the bit that says open fell (trod) you go round the ridge and head NE to a gate in a corner, double back slightly to cross the beck then follow a lower trod on the eastern side of the beck but in the valley bottom all the way to the top of the nick

Genuinely looking forward this - it's a race i've wanted to do for years and this year i can make it. Always happy to navigate but is it marked?

    Hi Mark

I think small bits are but the route is very obvious.. follow the fast boys in to the valley, run up to the top. Follow PW back, there is a turning low down which sends you over fields to the finish, this is marshalled and flagged, worth just reccieing the last 300m so you don't miss the corner at the farm...

Brill, thanks. Following the fast lads sounds like hard work unless they leave a trail of something...

and wasn't there a lot of fast lads...!!

I've not seen a field of such quality outside a champs race.

Thanks to Morgz and his team, we had another great day on such a superb race. 270+ runners in perfect conditions.

I was saying that to my club mates before the race, saw tons of them, brilliant to see and would've been a cracking few battles at the front.

Thanks to Morgan & his team, this race surely has one of the most spectacular views of any

Wonderful race except those bloody fields at the end but superb and the view back down was stupendous. Not many races with 4 mile descents - totally wonderful running.

My mantra of not going out too fast was in tatters thanks to the fast lads and lasses. 270+!! Well that makes my 100th place (or thereabouts) seem better as i was hoping to scrape into the top half.
