    Yeah we have two dead on a dual carriageway near Penrith. Plenty of dead hedgehogs about now also.

    We were told the same when we lived in Pembrokeshire by a local wildlife organisation.

    Three (yes, three!) Yellowhammers, as I was walking up the Newlands Valley towards my marshalling point at Dale Head on Saturday. I've seen them in the White Peak from time to time, but it's been quite a few years.

    We get them on the Coast near St. Bees and Whitehaven and flocks of them in Autumn/Winter. great little birds.

    Also, how could I forget? There was a Barn Owl quartering the fields around Elter Water early Saturday evening (6:30pm) as we drove up towards Langdale campsite.
