My race is still in the balance as I'm struggling with a back injury having recovered from reactive arthritis in my knee so I'm not in great shape. If I make it to the startline, my plan is to make the cut offs and get round seeing this as a stepping stone to getting fit again. My PR is 4.30 but if I can do it in 5 I'll be happy. It seems unlikely at the moment but you can never say never!

(its so annoying, this is the first year I'm running it now that I live in Horton...it feels like it should be 'my' race!)

First time for me, and barring anything spectacular or disastrous, I'll be somewhere between 4 and 5 hours. Hoping to be at the quicker end of that range if I'm honest, but will see on the day.

I'm doing the race having last run it (badly) in 2011 - time circa 4:40. One of the few times Hester's beaten me (or in this case hammered me) in a fell race . My fastest proper race time is something like 4:20 yonks ago but I ran round solo in 2012 in 3:55, when I was as fit as a butchers dog, so I'll have that pipe dream to aim for. I'll be happy with anything sub 4:30 to be honest

Fourth time for me, twice sub-4 hr and best 3hr49 when I first trotted round without a care in the world... Lack of training means if I get to the start line it'll be to just make it round and not hate every minute like last year! Not one to do on several nights very poor sleep.

This years my 10th on the trot, hoping for a pb but we'll see. Times have ranged from 4hrs 21mins to just under 5hrs. Been training well so hoping to stick to a 4hrs 10mins schedule, fingers crossed. Looking forward to it, just hope the weather is not as abysmal as last year,it was friggin bitter.

I'm running this for first time on Saturday. I'd like to get away with a bum bag rather than a vest/pack - so wondering whether I need to carry much liquid. Are there opportunities to get water on the course?
I watched a YouTube video that looked like there was some water containers on one of the climbs?

I think there are 4 water stations on the route, which is enough for me. If you drink lots you might need to carry something.

Was just going to ask the same question, mate! I normally do 2 hours without a drink but like you, don't want to carry a vest/pack and would rather run with a bum bag
