I recently complete a new route around the Lakes over 6 days, taking in scrambles, a few easy climbs and 7 natural 'cathedrals' of the Lakes (Pillar rock etc), as well as 7 classic hostelries and my choice of favourite places, mostly sleeping out. This would make a good individual days or as a whole . Its 275km in total with 18,500m of ascent and mixes up good paths, rough ground, scrambling, ridges and valleys. Details at http://lakelandpilgrimage.blogspot.co.uk/. I've posted a report of my journey on the blog. Free cream tea for all completers.
