I think the unions need to get back to looking after the best interests of their workers.
Quite why they think they are behind the scenes political fixers I don't know.
I've worked all my life, as has my wife and my three adult kids are all working and none of us have been asked to join a union.
The only family member I know was my Dad, who was a member of RUBSSO - the Rossendale Union of Boot, Shoe and Slipper operatives who's reps caved in (some say were paid off to roll over) and oversaw a gradual erosion of employment rights and loss of jobs.
There's 100s of 1000s of particularly young workers who do not understand their rights, have no idea how to deal with management and have no help.
Instead of trying to bring down the government of the day, they should be trying to support those in work, whether union members or not.
