A new round for the North east of England that covers 32 miles of the Cheviot hills care of Glen McWilliams of Wooler(Northumberland fell runners)
He thought of it and hes not getting out of it bearing his name!

The Route:

The round is in three sections.

Section 1 & 2 are parts of two national long distance route's.
They are clearly marked and well defined.

SECTION 1 - st Cuthbert's way.
Distance 12m.
Start @ Wooler WW1 memorial, church st. Wooler.
Down the 46 steps immediately onto the st Cuthbert's way. Head north for 8 miles to Hethpool, college valley, (a good support stop).continue for 3.5 miles arriving at Pennine way, sign post.

SECTION 2- Pennine way to cheviot summit. Dis't 8miles.
Heading south West for 5 miles arriving at Auchope mountain hut, (nice place for a spot of lunch. Don't forget to sign the visitors book).
Continue along the Pennine way until signpost for cheviot summit. Head to summit cairn.

SECTION 3. - Chevy chase route to Wooler 12 miles.

If you haven't done the Chevy you might find this a bit tricky.

From cheviot summit head to top of hedgehope (5m).
Facing eastward head to Brands corner.
Continue to the Carey burn bridge, (welcome support stop) . From the bridge follow the Carey burn for 1.5 miles turning up the dreaded hells path!.
Finally, the long run into Wooler.

FINISH -

Climb up the 46 steps and touch the railings around the WW1 memorial.
