    I'm very sorry to hear the sad news. In the 10 years that I was the FRA Fixtures Secretary Dave organised far more races than any other organiser. For example in 2012 he organised 24 fell races. Even though there were so many he always submitted his race information in a timely manner. The only time I met him was at an English Championship race he organised.

    The running scene in Cleveland/North Yorks in the 1980's was thriving, and Dave was a huge part of it. I wish I had known him personally, but I did recognise what he was doing. Great races in a great part of the country.
