Watching TV the other evening - patio doors wide open - saw something move out of the corner of my eye - looked round to see a frog in the middle of the lounge floor. Frog proved to be much more agile than me as I spent the next ten minutes trying to evict it.

Kingfisher on the canal near Macclesfield this lunchtime - lovely.

Just north of Kerridge Boatyard for any locals.

Peregrine falcons nesting at Humphrey Head. 2 chicks. Heard em a few times, finally spotted the nest yesterday. Look like they're nearly ready to fly

Nice trip around Snailsden and the Don watershed. Saw Curlew, Lapwings, Skylarks, Snipe, Meadow Pipets. Got so close to a grouse it's wing brushed my leg. Saw a very large Mountain Hare bounding along.

An owl (tawny, I think) swept low overhead as I ran towards a narrow strip of woodland on the outskirts of Wrexham yesterday morning.

Saw two stoats this morning near to Ennerdale.

Probably not really ranking as a famous sighting, but for someone born and bred in Coventry, it was a first time for me...!

Perhaps not the most glamourous wildlife encounter but Mrs Clough and I enjoyed watching a leaf cutting bee making trips back and forth to a hole in a raised bed at the allotment. It was carrying small pieces of leaf to make a nest.

Found a bee's nest in a rabbit hole - Walney island.

Seals at the south end of the island which was nice.

I once came across such a phenomenon, several years ago at the summit of Grange Fell in Borrowdale.
